After many years of career success in Sales and Business Development roles, Bob began to realize that when looking in the rear-view mirror of his career, it was all those times when he helped other people succeed that really gave him the most satisfaction.
Beginning in 2009, Bob did a major pivot in his career, changing his focus to Human Resources and Organizational Development. From developing new and innovative hiring methods, to structurally integrating teams after a merger, Bob has had the opportunity to work on the ground level as well as designing programs and directing staff to address most all major functional areas that include people management.
In 2017, Bob began a process to become a certified human resources professional through SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management , which is the largest HR professional organization in the world with 300,000 members in over 165 countries. The SHRM vision statement says in part that "Our purpose is to elevate the HR profession. Our mission is to empower people and workplaces by advancing HR practices and by maximizing human potential. Our vision is to build a world of work that works for all."
The SHRM-SCP certification, which Bob has held since 2020, is designed for HR professionals at a senior level who operate primarily in a strategic role—developing policies and strategies, overseeing the execution of HR operations, analyzing performance metrics, and/or contributing to the alignment of HR strategies to organizational goals. Qualifications include a variety of higher education degrees, along with a minimum of three to seven years serving in HR functions, along with successfully passing the proctored exam based on a core set of competency and knowledge principles outlined in the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge® (SHRM BoCK®).
